The answer isn't so black and white. (See what I did there?...not black or white, sort of a gray area, or a gray division.) gray÷division the website is a platform to display a curated selection of my work as a cinematographer and will also serve as a lab to explore some of the photographic design and approaches that don't make it into the projects I shoot. The things that influence and inspire me are varied and include more than just cinema. Instant photography, mountain biking, film cameras, skateboards and whatever else I'm obsessing about are featured here and with links hidden in text. Scroll around, they're here.

gray ÷ division the company, comes from wanting to shoot projects, in places, for, about and with people who inspire and interest me. In between set ups, after wrapping for the day, the talk on set  is often about some film, documentary, or Netflix show that you just have to watch. "IT WOULD BE COOL TO WORK ON SOMETHING LIKE THAT" is a comment that often follows such conversations. It's something I've said myself. g ÷ d is a creative collaboration built around the idea of producing that kind of content. 

I grew up in Southwest Detroit, something that those, from there, will tell you immediately and repeatedly. My interest in film began with super 8 home movies projected on a screen in my parents basement (in SW Detroit...see, told you). The magic of the light on that screen is something I try to bring to every project.
